Harvard Book Store announces huge new location in Boston

The independent Harvard Book Store, which has operated in Cambridge for 90 years, plans to open a second location. Co-owners Jeff Mayersohn and Linda Seamonson have signed a long-term lease for a huge space formerly occupied by Barnes and Noble at the Prudential Center in Boston. “It’s quite an ambitious project,” the owners said in a statement. “The new store will comprise nearly 30,000 square feet, a space approximately five times larger than our Cambridge store.” Planned features for the new store include a children’s section and space for hosting events. “The new store is designed as a warm and welcoming space that will continue our long tradition of commitment to storytelling and the written word and be a major addition to Greater Boston’s literary life,” the owners wrote. will open in the spring of 2023.
